DAVE MUSTAINE's Daughter On Her Father: 'I Would Do And Give Anything For This Man'
June 17, 2019Dave Mustaine's daughter has credited her father with teaching her "reliability, perseverance, commitment" and "strength."
The 21-year-old Electra Mustaine made her comments on the same day that the MEGADETH leader publicly revealed that he has been diagnosed with throat cancer.
Electra tweeted out two photos of Dave, including one of her as a little kid being held in her father's arms. She wrote in an accompanying message: "I would do and give anything for this man. Dad... I love you so so much. You've taught me what love should look like, taught me reliability, perseverance, commitment....and mostly, strength. On days when you can't, I will give you mine. #FathersDay @davemustaine"
Mustaine and his family moved to Nashville in October 2014 after living in Fallbrook, California for a couple of years. Dave later said that he relocated to Nashville because he wanted Electra to pursue her country music dreams. "I can do my job anywhere, really," he explained. "It's good for me, because my daughter is happy, and I think, if you love your children, you'll always want to protect and provide for them. And, like I said, I can pretty much do my job anywhere."
In a 2016 interview with Fox News, Electra stated about her dad: "I was very fortunate to have grown up with him as my father and in the household. He's done a lot. He's had a lot of platinum records and awards, et cetera, et cetera. But, yeah, he's offered invaluable advice about how the business works and things to look out for, things to make sure you pay attention with."
Three years ago, Electra released a country cover of the MEGADETH song "I Thought I Knew It All", which originally appeared on the band's 1994 album "Youthanasia".
